Public Lecture at Nagoya Nohgakudo: Learning About Heian Culture Through the Junihitoe

A public lecture titled "Women's Culture Lecture," introducing the garments of Heian-period nobility and others, was held on October 17th at the Nagoya Nohgakudo in Naka-ku, Nagoya. By invitation of the organizing General Foundation for the Promotion of Folk Costume Culture, approximately 65 international students from ASAHI文化学院 learned about the kimono and culture of that era.

The procession of the Saio (an imperial princess who left the capital to serve the great deity of Ise in the emperor's name) and her entourage was vividly re-enacted, with beautiful garments presented one after another, captivating the international students.
